Information and advice consultation feedback

February 16, 2011

Places people visit to get information

The information and advice consultation closed to the public at the beginning of February. The consultation aimed to get evidence about the types of information and advice people wanted and how they preferred to receive it.

174 people completed the survey. The majority of these (97%) were from paper copies circulated to people with a care package following a random sample, and to house-bound people through the Council’s Mobile Community Library and provided services.

Stats include:

  • 56% receive information and advice via post and 35.8% via newspapers like Hackney Today; this compared to 11.8% via the internet
  • The best places to visit to get information and advice are the Doctor’s, Hackney Service Centre, and community groups
  • The best people to get information and advice from are adult social care staff, carers, health workers
  • 66.5% of people said they never use the internet
